Review: Frontcover Dark Arts including some Nail of the Day Pics

When it comes to nail varnish, I have a slight obsession. Maybe its because I’m a nail technician? Either way, I love painting my nails and often do it frequently. To keep things fresh and new I like to add nail art. For someone like me who does it as a profession I have a lot of the things at hand to do some funky designs. For the average person though this isn’t always the case and buying everything you need can be expensive and hard when you aren’t sure what tools will be useful.

Today I’d like to share with you the Frontcover Dark Arts set I was sent, I recently did a post on the full Autumn/Winter 2012 Frontcover sets and listed Dark Arts as one of my must haves. Here’s my thoughts one whether its worth the money and what you can achieve with it…

The Dark Arts set is a comprehensive kit which contains pretty much everything you will need to create great looking nails. One of my biggest loves of Frontcover products is the simple little tutorials they include with their sets. With Dark Arts it gives some really easy instructions to create several different nail looks, some with and some without nail art. You can really customise these variations and make them your own. This is why I think Dark Arts is such a great investment!

Inside the kit you get the following;

3 Different Pots of Nail Jewels ( Silver/Diamonds, Red and Gold)

1 Pot of Holographic Diamond Glitter

4 Nail Varnishes – Oil Slick (Black), Cardinal (Deep Ruby Red), Hit The Jackpot (Gold) and Saffron Stigma (Corel Red Pearl)

A Clear Gloss Top Coat

Mini Nail Scissors

Dotting Sticks

Mini Tweezers

Orange Stick

Nail Art Brush

Nail Buffer

3 Sets of Nail Stickers

Nart Art Glue

Leaflet containing instructions on how to use the kit

In my opinion £25.00 for all these items is a complete bargain. I would pay that for just the nail polishes, so I feel its really quite a good deal. You really do get a fair amount too. Each polish is a good size and will give you a good amount of applications. Also, I have used the holographic nail diamonds on my nails twice and there’s still a lot left.

To show you what I’ve come up with using the kit, I’ve taken some pictures of my designs. These are designs I have done on myself, so aren’t as amazing as I could do on a client. But this does give you an idea of what you can achieve with the kit.

I think this set is the most perfect gift for Christmas or a birthday. Its great to use on a Girlie Weekend or Girls Night In. I would happily get one of these as a present for friends and be more than happy to receive one in return. The items are all good quality I’ve found the nail varnishes last quite well too. I’ve struggled to find a downside to this kit at all as I’m totally in love with it!

With the Dark Arts set it has just reinforced my thoughts on how great the Frontcover sets are, I am now looking to buy True Colours, Desk To Date and Moondance. For the products you get within the sets, they are amazing value (I’ll be sure to post more reviews soon).

The Dark Arts kit from Frontcover Cosmetics costs £25.00. You can purchase them Worldwide and from Sephora Stores and QVC (Exclusively in the UK). For more information on Frontcover, why not check out their website, or Facebook and Twitter.

Lots of Love,
