EOTD: Smoked Out (Rock Chick Eyes)
I’m still trying to work out what eyeshadows work with my new hair colour and am playing about quite a lot on a day to day basis. I came up with this ‘Smoked Out’ look. It took all of 5 minutes to do the eyes if that – so super easy for most to do. Best of all this is the ‘cleaned’ up version, before this I was looking a little more like Taylor Momsen (Minus the Blonde locks). So if the rock chick look is for you, then this EOTD would really work.
I did actually like the Taylor look I have to admit but for an afternoon at my grandparents house I felt maybe it was a little much so cleaned up some of the smoke under my eyes with my foundation brush.
I applied my foundation as usual and did my brows. I then applied a cat eye with small flick liner above my upper lash line and along my lower lash line using the black shadow in one of the Sleek palettes (There is a black one in every palette I think and its just a plain black matt shadows – however any black matt shadow would work).
Then with a fluffy blending brush I blended along the lower last line and also blended the line on my upper lashes out. I pulled the colour in a ‘C’ motion so that it wasn’t being take onto the middle of my lid but was kept the lash line and then the crease. I then applied another line of eyeshadow along my lashes and repeated the process again (You can build this up as much as you like – more shadow will equal more smoke).
At this point I cleaned up with a foundation brush but for a truly dark smoked out look (Just like Taylor) just leave it!!
I then applied 2 coats of 17 Peep Show Mascara and a small line along my lashes and flicked with L’Oreal Carbon Gloss liner.
As I said the look too no time at all and in honesty I really loved it! I’m definitely prefering the heavier eye makeup since going dark haired!
Have you been smoking it out lately?
Mel xxxx
