Review Update: Brilliant 1 Week Tooth Whitening Kit (Part 2)

For those of you who read my blog you will know I tried the Brilliant 1 Week Tooth Whitening Kit and said I would be back in a week – hmm I’m sorry about that. I have had the images of my teeth looking at me on my desktop of my MacBook for a while now and just haven’t gotten around to posting the final review and thoughts as I’ve been a bit back logged. Still here is it my thoughts and findings on the tooth whitening kit and whether I recommend it.

For those of you who haven’t read my previous review please click here.

Below you will see a picture of my teeth before trying the Brilliant kit, I am a heavy coffee drinker. I can’t live without caffeine  and have quite stained teeth because of it even though I do brush with a whitening toothpaste and use a whitening mouthwash. However while using this kit I only used the items in the kit and did not use my usual toothpaste or mouthwash.

Before using the Brilliant 1 Week Tooth Whitening Kit

After using Brilliant 1 Week Tooth Whitening Kit for 1 week

I will be honest and say the kit can be used twice a day; I found this a bit of a faff and also it made my teeth too sensitive and made them ache. So I only used the kit twice a day for the first 2 days and then daily after that. I did notice it whitened my teeth a little, but not that much. My teeth are heavy stained and my front top left tooth is also a veneer and this colour won’t change as its matched to my teeth already.

When I mentioned to a friend I had been trying this she couldn’t notice any difference. Not that I would expect her too as I didn’t notice much either but I thought I’d see if she could. I did however notice that the plaque build up between my teeth definitely went a and was lighter – so the kit did do something.

As I mentioned when I first bought the product it was only £5.59 and I bought it in Superdrug, I wasn’t expecting miracles and if I did see any difference it would be good. Well, there was a minimal difference. So maybe for people who don’t have as stained teeth as me and can use the product twice a day this would be good. I am sure they would see more difference than me. However I don’t feel it was amazing and wouldn’t buy the product again.

I am going to look about and see if I can find another reasonably priced teeth whitening system and try that and work my way through them to see what works and for what budget. If anyone has any recommendations of kits I would love to hear them!

Lots of Love,

Mel xxxx

Great post hun! I think your teeth look lovely hun, I'm a really big Tea & Coffee drinker and can't live without them. The thing is my teeth are so bad and so sensitive, since I was pregnant with my 1st they've been crap and then when I was pregnant with my 2nd they got even worse! I have so many fillings it's embarrasing and upsetting I hate it. I always joke saying I will need denture by my 30th!
Have you tried the WhiteGlo toothpaste? They do a special one just for tea & coffee drinkers xxx

I haven't tried WhiteGlo but might give that a go. I can't live without coffee – in fact people around me can't live without me having coffee LOL! I haven't been able to drink tea since I was pregnant with my little man 5 years ago. I hated the taste when pregnant and ever since can't stomach it LOL! I'll definitely keep my eyes out for WhiteGlo thanks xxx

Great post! I love Crest's White Strips. Though they're not sold in the UK, so you'd have to buy them online. But they 100% work, and I definitely noticed a difference from them x

I think Crest Whitestrips are the best.. I have used them several times and the results were amazing. Thanks for the tip about Whitestrips4u, i was looking for a good UK based supplier and their prices seem very good (free delivery as well!).

I was disappointed as the results I achieved were the same as if I’d been using Macleans Whitening toothpaste for a week – I was expecting more from a the kit to be fair, M x
